Thousands are in Las Vegas hoping to cash in at this year's World Series of Poker, an event that has exploded in popularity in the recent years.

Jun. 24 - Australia's Sam Hill and Sabrina Jonnier of France run out the winners in the third round of the Downhill World Cup. Reigning World Champion Hill finished ahead of South Africa's Greg Minnaar, who came second, and Briton Steve Peat who was third.

The U.S. Women's Soccer team unveiled its new World Cup uniforms in New York City recently as it attempts to reclaim the trophy that it last won in 1999. The world cup begins September 10th in China. (June 24)
